The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently updated its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom) to align with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) Revision 7. Consensus in the industry is that OSHA’s HazCom Final Rule lacks full clarity and guidance around some of its changes in requirements, like the section 2 hazards. Significant errors in the Final Rule have also been discovered.
